GREEN BAY — The Green Bay Packers on Tuesday announced they had released punt returner and wide receiver Amari Rodgers.

Rodgers, a second-year player, had been plagued by a number of costly muffs, this season. A turnover Sunday in the Packers’ game against Dallas let to a Cowboys’ score, however Green Bay overcame a 14-point fourth quarter deficit to win 31-28.

Rodgers was replaced on punt returns in the game by kick returner and defensive back Keisean Nixon.

Rodgers was originally selected by the Packers in the third round (No. 85 overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft and played in 26 regular-season games with one start and one postseason contest, according to the team.
