GREEN BAY — The Green Bay Packers used their running game to get back on the winning track with a 27-10 win Sunday night over the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field.

The Packers offense looked sharp from the opening, scoring on a Mason Crosby field goal on their opening drive.

But the Bears came roaring back to score the first touchdown of the game to go up 7-3.

The Packers responded with an Aaron Jones touchdown to open the second quarter. A Crosby PAT put Green Bay back up 10-7.

After acknowledging last week that he had abandoned the run in the season opening loss the the Vikings, Head Coach Matt LaFleur leaned deliberately on the run game, no more so than on the next drive that started with multiple runs out of formations that featured both Jones and A.J. Dillon.

The early runs in the drive opened up pass plays to Randall Cobb and Romeo Doubs.

The drive ended with a run by Dillon that set up a shovel pass to Jones for his second touchdown of the night to push the score to 17-7.

After the defense stiffened to get the ball back, the Packers leaned on the run again to set up a Rodgers to Allen Lazard touchdown pass to go into the half at 24-7.

After the break, the Bears turned a Green Bay fumble into 3 to move back to 24-10.

The Packers offense sputtered on the next possession, and the Bears drove the length of the field, but the Green Bay defense held on a fourth and one at the goal line to turn back Chicago’s opportunity to score.

The defensive stand sparked the offense, which then put the game away at 27-10 on Crosby’s second field goal of the game.

The Packers take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Sunday for a 3:25 p.m. kickoff.

The game could be the last time future hall of famers Rodgers and Tom Brady face each other in a regular season game.
