ASHWAUBENON — Two people have been found dead following a police standoff Thursday in Ashwaubenon.

Ashwaubenon Public Safety Chief Brian Uhl said a man and the woman were found dead in the home. He did not identify the shooter.

Neighbors who were told to shelter in place are now free to leave.

Police say they received a call about 10 a.m. from a mother who said she was worried her daughter hadn’t show up for work.

When officers arrived at the home on Cedar Ridge, they heard a scuffle in the garage and multiple shots fired.

As of about noon, authorities began “a little bit of a waiting game to see if we can make contact.”

The suspect, who police say has a violent criminal history, and the victim were believed to be inside.

When officers finally entered they home, the found the man and woman dead.

Cedar Ridge is in the area of the interchange between Highway 172 and I-41 on Ashwaubenon’s north side.

The Ashwaubenon Police Department is advising residents who live near Cedar Ridge to shelter-in-place after shots were fired in the area.
